Club Spotlight: Spirit of the Heartland Kennel Club

Club members from the Spirit of the Heartland Kennel Club, located in Missouri, recently donated a bulletproof protection vest to the Fredericktown Police to protect Fredericktown K-9 Officer Alexio, handled by Officer Dan Curtis.

This is the tenth such vest Spirit of the Heartland Kennel Club has donated to the police department. The club raises money through donations and club events to purchase the $1,000 vests, which can stop a .45 caliber bullet.

K-9 Officer Alexio joined the local force in January. Officer Curtis is a former military working dog handler.

See more K-9 officers wearing vests donated by the club at the Spirit of the Heartland Kennel Club website.

Read more about the donation in the Democrat News.

Great job, Spirit of the Heartland Kennel Club!
